The Kali Shrine
A SACRED SITE
The Goddess Kali was a powerful force at the 2019 Temple Scarlet Retreat. In her honor, the 2019 retreat profits were used to purchase a Tantric Kali statue and establish a Kali shrine. Though the Kali shrine is maintained by Temple Scarlet volunteers, the statue itself was donated to The Gaea Retreat Center where the shrine is located.

ABOUT THE STATUE
The hand carved wooden statue depicting Tantric Kali comes from the Pashupatinat Hindu Temple, the largest temple complex in Nepal. The statue was one of many crafted specifically for the annual Kali festival, during which the statues are ceremonially burned. This statue, however, remained intact and made its way to the Aquarius metaphysical store in KC before being purchased by the founder of Temple Scarlet and donated to The Gaea Retreat Center.
ABOUT TANTRIC KALI
Kali is a Hindu Goddess of many faces, and this depiction of her is best known as Tantric Kali. Tantric Kali dances upon her willing consort Shiva, who acts in a grounding and supporting role, allowing Tantric Kali to express her wild and divine power to it's fullest. Kali often acts as a force of great change, clearing a way for better things.
